Power And Control Cables
Standard marine cable made of tin-plated copper with double insulation and multiple wires should be used in all electrical installations of the boat. The cable diameter must be thick enough for power to be transmitted to the consuming vehicle fully.
Wires thinner than necessary cause more resistance to the electric current, causing the voltage to drop and consequently, causing the vehicle to malfunction, as well as electrical contacts as a result of overheating. It is essential that the locations that the cables will pass through are planned to be away from heat, seawater, and oil.
