The Minimal Properties Required for a Water Maker Should Be As Follows:
- Protection against low and high pressure
- System for monitoring product quality and rejecting bad product
- Thermal protection of low and high pressure pumps against overload
- Valve to gradually increase the pressure from zero to operating pressure at each start
- Backwash to protect membranes
- pH balancer
- Correct design
The Right Design
It is important to use the right membrane with the right pump. For instance, using a 4 inch membrane with 11 or 15 l/min pumps is a design flaw and shortens the life of the membrane.
The features listed above are the minimum that every watermaker should have. These features allow the device to serve for a long time with as little trouble as possible, reducing medium and long-term costs. We recommend our customers to purchase automatic devices, although it is optional. It is forgotten to open and close the pressure valve mostly, as a result of this, the membranes may be damaged or the device does not perform a backwash.
